Agro-Forestry: A new approach of increasing farm production! What is modern ‘Agro-Forestry’? It is not a mixture of agriculture and farming. It’s a new farming system ‘modern system adapted to modern agriculture’.
I believe that Agro-Forestry is a ‘climate smart’ breakthrough for agriculture. Agro-Forestry is one of the few options with the potential to help reduce greenhouse gas emission; helps protect natural resources whilst at the same time producing more food and biomass. Side by side, to supplement farm income various methodologies has been used and to explore few and an important one is agro-farming of Papaya with intercropping of Seedless lemon. Both the varieties are capable of bearing fruit at regular intervals once planted in a scientific manner and properly supplemented by Organic Fertilizers. From the very start of Land Preparation, from Plantation to Fruit/Flower bearing stages, it will be kept in mind – NO TO CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS.
Next, will be “Holistic Centre’ with comfortable Complimentary Homestay facilities surrounded with Greenery, Flora and Fauna dotted with chirping birds and lively farm creatures with cooling water bodies. The Holistic Centre will be coming up in the heart of Plantation, and will parallelly grow to take shape along with the surrounding Plantation. The holistic centre will have scheduled Lectures on subjects related to Life, Culture and Society.The centre in discussion will also conduct planned visit to places of importance and attraction, in the nearby vicinity. The said Centre will have all facilities provided to our guests staying with us, to make their stay comfortable and a memorable one. The Plantation having agriculture supports will be centrally housing State of Art Holistic centre, Housing with Catering Services for our visiting guest and support team.
It may please be noted that within the Plantation there will be Big No to Alcohol, Tobaco, Drugs, Artificially flavoured Aerated Drinks and only 100% Vegetarian foods will be served. The stay of our guest is programmed to give a different Style and Value to their time spent with us.
Lastly, not to forget the Fishery Pond covering 10 acres within the plantation, which will be divided into 4 parts due to technical and safety procedures. The envisaged 10 acres of Fish Pond will be surprisingly dotted with Flocks of colourful Ducks and Swans, to enhance Fish life and added beauty to the surroundings.
