Here also, it can be observed that in balance 30 acres of land available with us will be used – 10 acres for cultivating Indian/Bangladesh variety of Lemon, a variety, which will bear fruits all the year round. It may be noted here that our complete plantation and farming will be organically supplemented. The variety in discussion will be of such breed, which are considered in good demand worldwide. To many it may surprise them, why Lemon among the other exotic fruits? It is envisaged to add on a Lemon Processing plant within the plantation area in near future. Lemon cropping will also be in grid pattern maintaining a safe distance of 15 feet. And it may be noted that select Lemon Plant each will have a fruit bearing period of around 35 years each. Grid pattern of planting gives the advantage of sufficient movement between each crop while tree pruning, cleaning of area and at the times of plucking fruits. Such activities form a periodical process to be followed, hence this Grid Planting of Lemon Plants.
Another crop which is ear marked for the balance 10 acres of land within the plantation is Papaya, which will be of Taiwanese Red Lady 786 variety. As far as planting pattern is concerned, it will also follow Grid Pattern of planting, but distance will be of shorted spacing, say 10 feet maximum. It may be noted that Papaya plants have a shorter fruit bearing year, say maximum 2.5 to 3 years. Then we will go for new cropping. Why two varieties are considered has a reason? It can be justified by few valid reasons, like Taiwanese variety has high commercial value due to its size, high density of fruits per tree and the minimum gap between two crops. Primarily, size of the fruit up to its full growth are of standard size affordable per family & hence, less wastage for customers. Next, due to variable market trend it gets stable pricing and lastly among other factors, are never prone to viral attacks.
