Everyone around the Globe is talking about Global Warming, Green Environment and Nature’s Protection! But, are we contributing anything towards the development of the same? Our Public Charitable Efforts has chalked out an intensive plan of creating green patches of 100 Plus Acres of plantation giving thrust to global green revolution. On the starting stage and taking into consideration the climatic conditions of the location, from where we have started tree clusters of two varieties of trees are selected. First is Melia Dubia, which has a shorter growth span of 10 years. This tree grows straight up and achieves a height of 25+ feet having a self-girth of 36 inches and is the best raw material for plywood’s industries, board manufacturers and general wood industries. The plantation is done in a grid pattern by maintaining a spacing of 15 ft between two plants lengthwise and breadthwise. It can be calculated that plantation of Melia Dubia per acres has a density of 250 plants and it covers 70 acres in plantation.
In the same way, it is planned to have series of Mahogany Plantation side by side, all along the boundary of the total Forestry Patch of 100 Plus acres. As it is world known that this particular tree has a longer growth period of say; 20 to 25 years. No doubt, people attempt cutting off this tree on its completion of growth by 15 years. But it may be noted that Mahogany tree attain its mature red natural colour and its fibre which matures only on the proper growth, when tree after it completes 20 plus years of life. The Mahogany tree attain its full growth and matures after a period between 20 to 25 years and are highly recommended for use, in shipping industries, flooring of modern style houses and in making of high-end furniture. On its use in any of industry, it is acknowledged fact that apart from adding beauty to the product by its sheer elegant colour and veneers stand strong for time to come. Its durability is world renowned. It’s said by older folks that during ancient times this Mahogany wood was considered for life long usages. Ships and boats made of Mahogany wood had a life span of 50 years. Its durability is proven by being in sea water and facing rough weather, for times immemorable. Just imagine its durability in normal usage!
